I am married with three children. Two boys and a girl. I like football, movies, music, reading, playing any sport at any time, and working around the house.

  • Victimless crimes: Marijuana and Prostitution. Should they be legalized?

My opinion is that if the action does not inflict pain or injury upon another person, then there should be no law against it. These are two actions that I think only the people involved have any kind of negative effect, of which is almost completely negligible, so they should be self-regulated.

  • How can a person have faith in god but no faith in evolution?

It boggles my mind that an otherwise fairly intelligent person can have no faith in a well studied and proven scientific theory, i.e. evolution, but then have faith in a supernatual being that controls all things in the universe, sun, earth, life, death, with his mind. How can this happen? Shouldn't people who live their lives solely on the basis of faith, allow some of that faith to be carried over to well respected scientific beliefs?

Isn't it hypocritical for people of faith who deny evolution to completely change their minds about the authenticity of scientific facts when it comes to medical science? "Sure I'll take this medicine that was provided by scientific research because it will save my life, but I reject other scientific research when it is inconvenient to my religion!"

My wife and I have different perspectives on this. She used to do the bills, but I now do the bills.

  • For those who worship a God...?

If you had an ant farm, would you require the ants to worship you? Would you burn them under a magnifying glass if they said you did not exist? What would you do to the ants who worshipped a different ant farm owner?

  • Now that Democrats have the house, how long before our taxes are raised?

When the Bush Tax cuts got passed, Democrats cried they were for the wealthy. They have been carping ever since about tax cuts for the rich. The fact is that everybody who pays income taxes got a well deserved tax cut. People like Pelosi and Rangel have been screaming about these tax cuts for over 5 years. Now they have a real chance to take more money out of hard working peoples pockets and give it to people who are too lazy or too dumb to get a job.

  • ATHEISTS: Are your in-laws trying to push their religion on your kids? And what are you doing about it?

My wife (catholic) and I decided before we had children that we would let them make their own minds up after they are old enough to really understand religions. But my mother-in-law began her indoctrination of my oldest child into Christianity years ago, and now I am afraid she will start on my other children. She secretly had my first son baptised! I kid you not. After that I refused to leave her alone with my other kids for any length of time. I do not want my children filled with this type of brainwashing.

So last year I let my oldest stay over her house for the night, (she's his grandmother,I can only forbid it so long if my wife wants it) so she started telling him about heaven and jesus and all the other myths that Christianity is based on. This after I spoke to her about not proseletyzing my children! So now I have to make the decision, should I never let my children stay at her house, or take the chance that she will start pushing her deluded view of the world on them again?

  • For those who believe in a God...?

Do you worship god for yourself, or do you worship god for god? In other words, do you go to church to worship god for gods sake, or do you do it to feel better about yourself? Basically what I am trying to figure out is whether belief in a diety is a selfish endeavor or if it is benevolent. i.e. Trying to make god feel better about himself by bowing down to him.

  • Atheists versus Gods?

Why is it that whenever I read a poll or study, over 95% of people believe in some kind of god, but when I am exposed to large groups of people discussing religion, like here on YAHOO!ANSWERS, sometimes as much as half of them have doubts about gods existence? Could the people doing these polls and studies be biased in favor of god?

  • For Atheists: Do you get annoyed when people say god bless you when you sneeze?

When I sneeze I say 'excuse me' just like when I burp. This is because I am exhaling noxious vapors from my lungs and nose that can possibly contain germs and/or bacteria. I feel the least I can do is say 'excuse me' when I spread around my bodily fluids like this.

But when I sneeze at work I get really annoyed because I have these three religious people sitting around me and it appears they are in competition to be the first to say "god bless you". They have been getting louder since I told one of them I do not believe in god. So today when they all said god bless you after I sneezed, I emphatically said "NO THANK YOU!". The guy I can see from my desk was visibly shaken by this and the other two would not look at me when I saw them in the hallway.

What are your feelings on sneezing and proselytizing?

  • Do you think an early 30something man can work out to get into good enough shape to fight in the UFC or Pride?

I have kept in fairly decent shape through the years, playing basketball, working with my hands, building fences, painting houses, flipping houses, etc, and I have plenty of experience with karate and street fighting, but I am not in great cardiovascular shape. I really need to start running again. It is just that I saw UFC62 the other night and I may not be in their league now, but I really feel that if I worked hard for six months, I could be in fighting shape. All my friends laughed at this idea, but I just wanted to get some peoples opinions who do not know me.

  • After centuries of persecution, should jews take a deep look inside themselves and ask, could it be us?

After all, so many people in the world do not like jews (not me, I am not anti-semitic) that maybe the time has come for the jews to do a self assesment. For example, if I was having problems at work with everybody that was not in my department, even if I preceived myself to have done everything great and perfect, I would have to change my ways in order to stabilize my work environment. Isn't it time that jewish people start saying to themselves, maybe WE ARE doing something wrong here. How could it be possible that jews have done nothing wrong throughout history, and yet so many people still hate them?
