The new trendy color combination is Turquoise blue and dark brown. These colors look great next to each other.

Another combo is dark cobalt blue with orange as an accent.

In my living Room, I have chartreuse greens (different shadings of it) A medium blue , and dark chocolate brown.

Painting only one wall a bright color looks tacky and outdated. It makes a "wall" your room focal point. A wall should not be a focal point, something else like a fireplace or window should be. Only architectural details should be emphasized with paint, not a wall.

Pink and black is a nice combo that is still in style and can look quite sophisticated if done right.

red and black looks quite seventies, but red and brown is new and works well.

brown is the new black in trends.. the neutral stable color.

Butter cream yellow is a very popular color too, especially for walls.

Pink - a light pink and a light gray are quite in...but do not use hot pink!

Lime green-Lime green on its own or paired with a suitable blue. Make sure the green is not too neon or bright and the blue should not be too DARK!

Orange - A light orange is quite in ...

Chocolate brown - This is a lovely colour BUT you should have bright furniture or the whole room would seem too dark.

Beige - A soft beige and some pale yellow

Deep red - A deep red would look lovely but you may not want to pain the whole room this red try a lavender with it.

Basically you should try to compliment the furniture in the room and you should be comfortable with the colours!

Tips: Dont paint a whole room the same shade of blue it could be depressing... If you want a blue room lighten it up with many shades of blue!

A fully purple room tends to look boring so use dark purples instead of lavender and accent it with white.

Try painting a single wall in the room a stunning colour for effect!

The trendy colors are bold and daring - like lush reds and deep yellows but you have to do this right - or you could end up with a disaster on your hands!

Shades of sage green. A bold red, not orangish. Cream colors. As long as it looks good with your furnishings and compliments the house, do it.

I agree completely with the first post. But be careful or it could look really off.
