I have Green Card. I just got married and my husband needs to be petitioned. Can I do it with my Green Card?

I have seen information that a citizen or green card holder can petition their spouse for an adjustment of status. Is this true? If anyone knows about how this works please help me out. Are there limitations? Must I be a citizen?

YES, YES, YES, you can petition him, it´s called Form I-130 Petition for Alien Relative and you as a lawful permanent resident may petition for your husband.

You don't need to be a citizen to sponsor your spouse, but be aware that the processing time for green card holders as sponsors is a lot longer, it could take a few years, whereas if you are a citizen it might take 1 or less, good luck./

Immigration law provides two ways for a permanent resident (LPR), to bring a spouse to the United States. They are:

Immigrant visa (F2A) for family second preference immigrant visa, which is requested through the I-130 form. The wait for this immigrant visa is several years, as someone else already told you.

However, there is also the Nonimmigrant (V) visa, which might allow your husband to travel to the US to wait for processing of the immigrant visa.
