The family that has alot to lose. Because they would care more about losing and try harder not to lose, since they have more at stake than the other family.

    Whats the prize?

Is there something to be gained by the fighting? If there is something to be gained for each, than they are both winners or if only one household gained something from the fight, then they win; it doesn't matter whether they have nothing to lose or have much to lose.

The family who first does away with the other family leaving no witnesses; who then calls police; when police arrive answer no questions; only speaking to their defense attorney; who will then suck the first family dry of money and all worldly possessions. So...no family wins...the attorney has now enough money to support his fourth mistress behind his wife's back....

So, I guess you can say the lawyer family wins....
