106,000 people in Florida voted for Foley. HUH?
How in the WORLD can that many people vote for this guy?
Now you are blaming Democrats for people voting for Foley??? Give me a break and use your brain. THOSE PEOPLE STILL MADE THE CHOICE TO VOTE FOR HIM! It wasn't forced.

FR_Chuck is almost right, and somewhat deceiving.
It was FLORIDA ELECTION LAW that would not let them change the ballot. It had nothing to do with the Democrats.
Incidentally Florida has a Republican legislature and a Republicans Governor. Democrats can't do anything in Florida if they wanted to.

No, they could not put the replacement's name on the ballot. A vote for Foley went for the new candidate!

Pull your head out of the sand, or wherever you've been hiding it.
The ballots had been finalized before Foley resigned, the Dems didn't want another name on the bllot, they were afraid their guy would lose unless Foley's name was still on there.
But a vote for Foley was actually a vote for the replacement candidate.
I'm sure the peple who voted for him KNEW that.
If you didn't know, you had no business voting.
Uninformed voters are worse than drunk drivers.
That's how the Dems won.

I live in Florida and I don't vote, but I must say that people here are rare speciments. The key is not to drink the water down here. I don't know if it is the government that puts something in their water or some natural substance that makes these people think the way they do. I left New York to get away from crime and ignorance and I just landed in a sea of the stuff. This is like the wild wild wild wild wild west used to be. So, yes, they would love a guy like Foley to lead them....KECK

no, a vote for foley was really a vote for his replacement, the democrats would not allow the name to be taken off and the actual person running to have his name put on.

They couldn't get his name off the ballots in time. The votes were really for a different person.

Wow, that's nuts. I didn't know he was still on the ballot. Must be those old folks that are used to voting a straight ticket.

even though foley was not running, his name remained on the ballot instead of the new guy.

Hmm.. don't you remember the 2000 elections in Florida, where they had to do a re-count? Kind of makes you think those people aren't so bright....
Think about it.

Those 106k have lived here less than a month. They chose the first name they were sure they could pronounce.
