Democrats - Don't you feel sorry for Republicans that they have to keep their base using fear tactics and war?

I'm an Independent and I voted Democratic. I don't feel the least bit sorry for the Republicans, they brought this mess on themselves. We had to elect a Democratic House and Senate to stop King George from thinking he's...well, King. I'm so relieved right now that we finally have checks and balances in place, but feel sorry for the Repubs? Never.

Mmmmm......"keep their base using fear...."
Was it the republicans that promoted the idea of a reinstatement of the draft if they were elected - or threatened the elderly that Social Security was going down the tubes if they were elected - Maybe I just wasn't paying close enough attention, but I thought it was the democrats that played on these particular fears?
During an election - what ever works is fair game - and that's true for both parties.

The Republican base is just that, its base. Most have very strong convictions and would always vote Republican or not vote at all.
You are right we don't need to be afraid we are the toughest country in the world and we will crush any Radical Islamic Extremist that wants to test that.

not at all. the neoCON leadership is despicable. tho i do kinda feel sorry for the neoCON's base as they are obviously the kind of unfortunate people who are easily duped and manipulated into cowardice, easily swayed by fear invoking propaganda to give up their Constitutional rights, their civil liberties, the rule of law that protects them and to lower themselves so much as to tolerate their government's use of torture. it's pathetic, really.

Yes, I do, It's very sad. I also feel sorry for those Republicans that seem to have nothing but hatred to use. The Name calling like "Coward" does not really bother me that much coming from a Republican who is not in Iraq fighting to support there President. Who BTW, is in fact a draft dodger him self. BTW, please start useing the word ocupation instead of war. Congress approved the use of force in the Invasion of Iraq but did not approve the ocupation of Iraq. BTW, Iraq had nothing to do with Sept. 11th. "get a clue lady" ha ha ha She must not listen when she hears Bush speak.

Yes and also about the part about them having to lie to the religious right for their votes and campaign donations.

Maybe I should, but I dont. I hate them. I consider the death and destruction they bring to their victims -- the children of Iraq, the people of New Orleans, the wild creatures of the earth -- and I actually hate the republicans. Pure hate.

I guess you prefer a win based solely on hate?
I'm pretty sure hate is the only thing liberals can agree on.
