Other Southern Baptists Disagree With NC Convention's Vote on Homosexuality?

They're actively trying to DISCOURAGE gay people from attending church?!?!?

Yeah, I understand your concerns. But I think that the church just is taking an absolutist stance on the issue. Any less than absolute intolerance of the sin would be a compromise, and God's Word doesn't really accept compromise as an option. It sets a standard for leadership in the church (I Tim.3, Titus 1). But it also doesn't promote one sin as being better or worse than another, so from that standpoint, it (at least should) reach out to all who need to become saved. Homosexuals shouldn't be excluded from outreach, but it would be contradictory to their principles for churches to be leniant regarding the knowledge that it accepting this (or any other) sin within it's congregation or leadership.

Actively Immoral Lifestyle? Sorry hun you just gave me the red @$$. Also who is more immoral, the homosexual couple who attends service and cares for their child (adoption of surrogate) or the heterosecual who are christian only in name and neglects their child.

Churches through out the 20th century has ousted any congregation that has a homosexual in the congregation so why should this be any different.

Beside most "christians" have made it abundantly clear what they think of us so don't try to "actively reach out to the homosexual community". We have our own churches thank you. Churches who'se congregation are true Christians.

That is a good question. You may not like my answer though. God says that it is unacceptable for man to be with man or woman to be with woman. Later in the Bible, we are told to rid ourselves of the uncleanliness and sin in our lives...which also means people, music, circumstances. If a church were to allow homosexuals into their churches, they would be going against God's will. The only confusing matter is that we are not supposed to judge...so why wouldn't you be considered a brother (or sister) to us? And I attend a southern baptist church. whether they'd agree with me or not, i do not know.

Have any of you picked up your Bible and read God made man and then woman for his companion. No where in the bible does it say that homosexuality is good, okay, or should be forced on children. If we continue to support this how can you explain to your children and teach them what is right, when ideas are put into their heads from ugly shows on TV, its on the movies, radio and in our schools. When is it enough? God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for just this kind of behavior. What do you think aids is all about. God is very angry! God will show favor to those churches who reach out an support homosexual-ism. God would want us to convert them into Christians and show them the word of God where it says that one man one woman become as one.

Why should I have to bend to the ways of the world? The standards they have set for us, is to bend to the ways of the world, I got news for you,

You know if we do, the sin of homosexual, comes upon us.

Even when were not, just because we bowed to the god of this world, and let the standers of pressure get to us.

Gay people are people, and their lifestyle is no more inappropriate than anyone elses.

Yes, NC has gone too far. Anyone who denies gay people any sort of rights is going far beyond their place.

I am your basic Northern Pentacostal - I did not read this. Last time I checked my bible (today) We are all sinners, and if we break a big one, or little one, they are all created the same. so ANY sinner has a right to find a path to Jesus.

if GOD allows it to happen,one day an unexpected events may happen in the churhc!
