If a marine has a year left on his contract can he still be called to Iraq? I know Just on friday they are?
going to order more than 57,000 troops. Can it still be possible to be called over there? With little time left?
Nope he has never been to Iraq.
Is there anyway or a list that they have or a website to see if they are on that list? Or is it strictly orders? And will they be summond, or will it come directly in the mail?
So is there anyway to find out who and when they will be called??????
So will the orders come in the mail then?

I know that at one point they listed them in the Marine Corp Times newpaper. I don't know how often they post it though. I did find on their online site, that they are dispelling some of the rumors of call-ups in several states. If you look though the site, you may be able to find a specific group. As far as his deploying, the answer is yes. A year is more than enough time. My husband deployed with 3 months left in his contract, but he is active duty.

Yes, the ugly truth about a military enlistment is that they "own" you and can deploy you at will. I did my last deployment over there with less than a year left on my contract and I stayed there until I had 8 days left in the service. It happens alot so be prepared for it...its part of the job.

if they had 10 days left on there contract they could be called to Iraq, the military doesn't really care about the exist date, all they care about is if the time the orders are drawn up are you still enlisted, that's about it!

Of Course...the last 3 months of my Naval career I got sent over seas to catch up with the USS Enterprise... So it can happen.

its called stoploss. your ets gets moved back past deployment. however marine deployments are only 6 months so you still have lots of time. i have seen people go over after their ets and stay in for over a year after their contract ended.

Yes they can. Even if they have 60 days they can and make them stay till the years is up.

I work for the military, and yes, he can be called at anytime. especially if he hasn't already been there, he would be at the top of the list.

Yes he can, then he can be extended in service if he is needed

If your unit gets called up you will have to go. You should be proud to go and kill them rag heads
