What's your favorite or different Thanksgiving tradition?

We find a pond or a lake and feed the ducks. I know it is strange, but after all that turkey, we need to stretch our legs and to feed something other than ourselves.
We started this tradition in Tacoma, Washington, my husband and I. Now we live in North Idaho where we can be found on a late Thanksgiving Day, feeding ducks, geese and the occassional sea gull.

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is sitting around the dinner table before we begin the meal and taking turns telling what we are thankful for. My Mom, Grandma, and aunts always found a different way to go about doing it each year. Once we each wrote it down on leaves they had cut out of construction paper, and we taped them to a paper tree. Another time, we each were given one kernel of corn and had hold up the corn and say what we were thankful for and then eat it. One year, my young cousin wrote down what each person was thankful for and then read it to us using her toy microphone. It is just something really neat to do every year, and I'm glad we always end that time of sharing with a prayer.

Watching the parades in the morning with my Dad---I'm 53 and still make sure he and I watch the parade together after I put the big bird in the oven!! He's 86 and if I'm not perched next to him on the couch he'll toddle out to the kitchen to get me, cause he has to make sure I see Santa at the end of it all!!!!
