Missouri divorce law... Does Missouri require that you go through marriage counseling before a divorce?

    If one party claims that the marriage is not irretrievably broken, then the court can suggest counseling. I don't believe, however, that they can actually require it, but it can certainly delay the divorce.

    You have to wait until the baby is born to prove it's not the husband's so that she can't turn around and try to pin child support on him during the divorce. If they are living apart, there is a possibility the court will accept affidavits from both parties stating that the child is not a product of the marriage - but most judges, would rather go by the book. If they still reside in the same home - there is zero chance of expediting the divorce.
