Why the Stemmed Hate of the War on Terrorism?

Just curious here: I am veteran. I know and have seen the good come out of the war on terrorism. Via letters, videos, etc from my friends serving on the ground. I was in a Support role per say. 6 years USN. Both current battlefields in the War on terror:

People argue no WMD's: see this link(S)

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/ne...

People argue Saddam had no Terrorists ties:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/commentary/20060408...

These few links are just the tip of the spear. I am not sure why the mainstream media is hiding these facts. And/or why some polictians want to keep claiming"No WMD's found".

Now granted this is just a quick put together of some "news" facts. I have looked at both sides of the arguement. The WMD's have not been found in mass but some things have. correct?

Update:

Amanda: But are they NOT WMD's?? Did Saddam not say" I have no WMD's?

Sorry, but very few WMD's have a short shelf life: People have died in the Battlefields of WW1 near Verdun from accidently releasing Mustard gas shells. Long buried.

I'm with Leah....if you are looking for the truth, stay away from CNN or any mainstream media news outlet. Watch Fox. I'm a vet too. As soon as the national news comes on I immediately turn to reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond. I can't stand NBC or CBS evening news. I'm so sick and tired of their negativity, their filthy lies, and just the day to day doom and gloom. It makes me wanna hurl.

You are correct! The reason the news media doesn't tell us these things is because they have a liberal bent. How much information have they given us about the good that the military is doing in Iraq? Building schools, for example? Little. They claim it's because those types of stories are hard to get to, but they don't have a hard time getting to the bad stuff, do they?

I am against this war because of how we went about it... I heard the President just like everyone else after 9-11 he declared war on terrorism.. I just thought that meant he would start with Bin Laden and then go from there-especially when he said he would go anywhere to find him, which we now know is not true... I didn't expect him to give up on Bin Laden and start a whole new war- which is what he did.. the troops in Afghanistan are no longer looking for Bin Laden.. they are training their army and helping them secure their boarders from terrorists entering their country.... if we had started with Bin Laden and then progressed, I think I would feel differently about it- I think if we had started this war in Iraq, with a better plan from A-Z and planned on strategies for surprises and stuff.. then that would help but it's been mishandled from the beginning... so that's why I do not support this war on terror... I think it started and is continuing to go in the wrong direction. I still think Bin Laden is a bigger threat at the time than Saddam.. Bin Laden attacked us 3 times-not just on 9-11, not to mention what they have done to other countries.. they just keep going and going and going.. and we are more worried about tearing down Iraq to build it back up

The WMD's you are talking about was just old EXPIRED weapons from the first Gulf war. Nothing to get all huffy over. I just think we are in the wrong place. I think we should have been in Pakistan and Afghanistan, where the terrorists are, not in a country that isn't harboring them. Sorry.

because going into Iraq was the biggest mistake the us have made since Vietnam war . 3000 Americans soldiers dead and counting is not worth getting Saddam in this way .it's just a big mess in Iraq with no way of getting out and nothing good to show for it the Iraq peoples are worst off than they were when Saddam was in power there is just to much killing .

The mainstream media is liberal and they do not want the war on terror to succeed. They are not reporting the truth! Thank you for your post, and thank you for serving our great nation!

My husband and my son are veterans of the so-called terrorism war. I don't believe it is a war about terrorist more than it is a war about who controls the rights of oil. Oil is money. Money is power.
