    "A stitch in time saves nine." This means go for prevention, not repair. e.g. Maintain your car according to the manufacturer's recommendations, don't wait until something goes wrong and you have to spend hundreds to get it fixed.

    "A rolling stone gathers no moss." Nothing to do with Mick Jagger or Keith Richards. It means that if you keep busy in your life, you won't get the consequences of being idle - boredom, extra weight, muscle weakness, fatigue, etc.

    "The early bird catches the worm." A worm is the bird's source of food, nothing disgusting there. This saying means that if you get to something (a place, an appointment, an objective) on time or ahead of time, you will get the benefits. An example? How about a Boxing Day sale?
