i love the way people cna put down a movie.

for one thing this wasnt about Bond girls, high tech toys, Q, or anything like that.

Its the first days of James Bond 007. when he earns his 007 status.

The onyl thing i didnt like about Casino Royale was that from day 1 word was it would be set like the story line, in the 60's.

however half way through the movie its clear its modern. Also M is a woman. I doubt M would have been in the 60's.

It is really hard to measure Daniel Craig to the other people who have played Bond since this is supposed to be the beginning of the story. This portrayal is what (at least in the storyline) should be used to determine how the character of Bond should be played.

That being said, it wasn't a bad portrayal. You see some of the familiar quirks begin to emerge. However, Sean Connery will always be James Bond to me.

I liked Daniel Craig as 007, he is cold and detached.

I thought he did a great job---the producers are trying to liven up the character and be more hip and emotional (like when he falls in love with the girl--Bond has never done that before)---I am looking forward to seeing him again in the next movie

i agree with chris B that the last Bond movie (the halle berry one) was terrible....

and i didn't like this new guy as bond. no offense to him...he tried hard and made a good attempt...but bond is not blonde and doesn't have blue eyes. he wasn't as slick as pierce brosnan and he looked older than pierce (but is well over 10 years younger than him!).... just bad casting, and bad movie.... i didn't think the plot was very deep at all.

and the bond girl sucked too. aren't they supposed to be hott?

He's a great Bond, but they wrote his character so poorly.

I was thoroughly displeased with the film. It was an awesome movie, but hardly lived up to the Bond series. It was worse than the last one, and that is an accomplishment.

As an action adventure movie I liked it. I did not like the portrayal of Bond as weak, poor driving skills, his inability to read the other characters. lack of strong opinions and an inability to avoid traps and failure to accomplish his missions (he was always giving excuses).

that's an rather sturdy movie, btw, so which you may basically circulate. to respond to your question, Eva have been given returned to the hotel room until now James did and he shows her interior the bathe completely clothed crying with the water pouring over her. James walks in and joins her - it is an rather touching scene. basically, she isn't an agent, and while she gets caught in a surpirse combat she tries to look after herself and James however the ask your self to her is overwhelming.

Stupid movie. Its just an action movie. It has nothing to do with bond.
