£300 to tile a bathroom !!!

I have been a tiler for 15 years and know that some tilers charge anything from £500 to £1000 to do the work you want doing. Be sure he knows what he is doing and research your subject by asking further questions like- "what is involved when tiling a bathroom" so you know at least a small bit about the job entailed.

Watch for short cuts like not cutting the tile to shape properly but using only straight lines, filling spaces with silicon, over packing with cement, and be sure he seals the bath or shower before he grouts.

I have been called out to many homes where the whole bathroom has to be redone because of bad workmanship.

One last thing, if he is a good tiler and has a good reputation (check it out) then he will be in demand so would not be able to do the job at short notice.

It will take one person about two days (one full day to fit then one part day to grout) lets say total of 10 hours work. At labour only that 30 quid an hour, sounds pretty ok to me. The tiles can cost anything from 5 - 50 pounds a square meter, so figure it out for yourself.

is that labour only? if includes the tiles (depending on how expensive) i would say reasonable. tiling is pretty tricky and if they are there for at least 7 hours thats about £43 per hour which isnt much more than a garage charge for fixing ya car.

If he's good, that's a good price.

Say perhaps two days finished for a skilled labourer.

Good tradesmen are becoming hard to find, sounds like you found one.

to cheap to be a good tiler the price should be double that be carefull see if you can see some of his past jobs
