Best deer cart?

For those who have used them, what do you think is the best deer cart on the market?

Update:

The reason for the cart is that on our public access lands in Indiana you can not use a motorized vehicle. Where I hunt it is a lot of up and down ridges, in forested areas.

Our family purchased a hunting cart a few years ago from Cabelas and we have had mixed experiences with it. When the ground is dry and the fields have not been plowed it is a fantastic tool to take out stands or bring in deer. But if the fields are plowed or it is muddy the wheels will get gunked up with mud and it is more of a hindrance than a tool. The best thing we have used to move deer is an old plastic snow sled. It's about 5' long and 5" deep. We tie the deer inside it and drag them out that way. It also has handles on the sides in case we want to carry it over logs. Also this is a great tool when hunting after a snowfall. It is also only a pound or two so it weighs nothing to carry out, bury with leaves till you need it. I think we bought it at K-Mart about 15 years ago for about $5.00

Source(s): used it on probably 20 deer

It depends on where you hunt. I have owned a couple different types of carts.

I recently changed to a home made one, I bought a 2 wheeled one from Cabella's, but it was to low to the ground and with 2 wheels it did not like the trails here in Montana, 1 wheel on each side of the trail.

My buddy built one out of some scrap which only has 1 wheel and sits up alot higher, the down side to it is it takes 2 people to operate.

It depends on your location, In Florida where the deer are the size of large dogs a .243, or .308 will be all you need. But if hunting northern deer I would suggest either a .270 or .30-06.

I have never bought one, mine is homeade...I just used two wheels off an old 10 speed bike and some scrap metal for a frame and some old chain link fence....it works well for me....just make sure you get one high enough to go over the weeds and such....mine has about 10 inces of clearance....it works well here
