I am going to estimate an AVERAGE clove of garlic off of a bulb the size between a baseball and golf ball will be about 2-3 tsp or 1 1/2 tbsp
Theres no scientific answer because it will always vary. 1/8 tsp of garlic SALT is equivelent to one WHOLE tsp of garlic minced. You do the math.

I am assuming you do not know what a clove of garlic is.
Garlic is sold in the produce department. You can get it in either minced form usually packed in a liquid in a jar, in a white bulb usually sold with onions, or in powdered form in the baking aisle. If you buy the bulb you will notice when you peel away some of the skin, that the bulb is actually a clustering of smaller pieces. Each piece is a CLOVE. If using the bulb form, you can either buy a mincer and put the clove in the mincer press and you have garlic OR take away all the skin and chop it into smaller pieces like you would an onion. I usually smash it first with the blade of my knife. If you are using the minced form in the jar I would say probably a clove would be the same as 1 tsp. If you are using powdered garlic then I would say about 1/4 t.

General rule is 1 tsp per clove but it really depends on the type of garlic your using. Also keep in mind that the smaller the clove, the stronger the taste.
You also have a couple of different ways of preparing it: if you smash the clove, say with the broad side of a knife, you'll get a subtle flavor, while mincing it or putting it through a garlic press will be stronger.

well, I just measured. I had a small bulb of garlic(a little larger than a golf ball). Smashed and minced, 3 cloves equaled a heaping tsp.
