Help!! Too much onion!!?

I didn't realize how strong the onions I'm using for my dressing were - my mixture tastes TOO much of onion . How can I calm this flavor down? Would adding a bit of sugar help? PLEASE ADVISE!!!!!!!!

Update:

this mixture is for both my cornbread dressing and my rice dressing - the onions are white onions

Sugar will probably just make it taste like sweet onion. In a predicament like this, the easiest thing to do is to increase your volume based on the onions you put in. So add more of the other ingredients. I would start with adding more of the oil or mayo or whatever liquid you used initially. And TASTE IT as you go to find the right balance!

    Good luck!

I love onion so I don't think there is such thing as too much, but if you do then increase the volume of the rice and/or cornbread.

Drain the onions and leave them to soak in a cup of water with 1 teaspoon of salt for at least half an hour. Then squeeze them with your hand, wash them, let them drain well - they should be almost transparent by now. Now you can use them for your dressing.
