Before you can play DVDs, you need to install a DVD decoder, this is mostly included in the DVD drive package if purchased separately , or it came with the system when you got it. If you don't have the Cd, try to ask your computer's manufacturer. If you can't have the CD, download the trial versions of PowerDVD from cyberlink.com or try other dvd decoders available online. Good luck!
