Yes too high salt, good on you for thinking about it. However im sure a teeny corner of a pringle won't do harm :) Have you tried cream cheese such as philadelphia? That was my son's hamster's very favourite treat and he looked sooo cute sitting up with a tiny dollop of philadelphia in his paws, licking away at it lol. It was so good it never even got stored for later. I never gave the hamster large amounts of extra stuff, but each day he got perhaps a grape or a slice of cucumber or an apple core, some carrot or a teeny bit of cheese. Remember not to give him/her citrus fruit though. They also like a tiny bit of corned beef or meat (remember they eat insects in the wild) but I only gave him a bit half the size of a dice about once a week. I love hamsters and I miss ours - he lived to three years old with his nice mixed healthy diet.

yes, the amount of sodium in a pringles is about 1000 times the amount they should ingest. Pringles have daily nutritional values on them and the amounts are based on average body weight of a human, if you do the math approx 1/4 of a chip will equal there recommended sodium intake, now keep in mind that doesn't include the rest of the sodium that will be found in everything else they eat. As a snack 1-2 times a week you might be okay, but try the low sodium ones if your hamster will eat it.

Yes, I would think so. There is too high of salt content for pretty much anyone in Pringles. Too much salt can do damage. Especially for a little hamster body...I love hamsters...awwww.

Not in small doses. As long as you're just giving it just a small piece less than once a day, your hamster will be fine. All sorts of treats--cereal, bread, crackers, veggies, fruits--can be lots of fun for hamsters in moderation.

Just be sure you're feeding your hamster an actual hamster food as their main diet. Anything else, including Pringles, should be very small pieces used only as treats a few times a week.

Yes. The salt in pringles is unpure and not good for hamsters. Especially all of the other junk Pringles. If he/she like the saltiness then you can get him/ her a salt wheel from the petstore. This is mineral salt and is pure to them.

Don't waste your yummy Pringles on your hamster. She won't care. Give your hamster plain crackers instead, they nibble them just a cute. My favourite treat for them is in the summer to break off the bottom of your ice cream cone and scoop some ice cream into it making a mini ice cream for her to hold in her paws and lick - they love it and it's soooo cute.

All our animals like something or the other that they should not have but with the salt content i would say deffinately not a good idea -- if you just give it the occassional crisp then get an unsalted sort.

Mine likes the plain ones but I'd only give a tiny bit once per week.

Cheerios cereal is a favourite - he sorts out the colours!

The occasional carrot, cucumber, rocket salad - he loves that.

Too much of one thing will mess with his fragile digestive system.

Oh yes a little bacon on Sunday morning! He's very cute.

Clearly you've never eaten Pringles off of a sexy man's body.... (neither have I... I just wanted to be responsible for giving you that weird visual)
