what r ur views about Islam?

i think that Islam is a very influential religion.many christians, hindus and jews have embrassed ISLAM.there r 5 fundamentals of ISLAM.if a Muslim doesnot admit one of them,he is not a Muslim and 1 of these fundamentals is to have faith on all the books of GOD.so ISLAM is a broad religion.Islam is the only religion which ensures all the women's rights.read QUR'AN,it tells us about every aspect of life.even scientists consults Qur'an whenever they discovers something.it is the only book which even aftr 1400 yrs is not changed by people coz' ALLAH Himself has taken the responsibility to take its care. some people considr it a strict religion but actually they have limited knowledge,it is not a strict religion.ISLAM is a peace loving religion.i accept that some MUSLIMS r involved in terrorism but believe me,Muslims dislike thm.they just use the label of Islam.if u have any question or confusion about Islam . plz ask openly...........!

    peace be upon you.

i'm a muslim so i cannot answer this as it will be bias...

to my non-muslim friends who quoted from Quran, please take extra steps to understand the context of the verse. look also at the full verse, the verses before and after it and also the history and the conditions when and why the verse(s) were revealed...

let me put out an example by giving a sentence,

a policeman shot dead the man as self defense.

if i take just take the 1st half of the sentence, of course the policeman looks bad. but what if we know the full context...

    Allah knows best.

As you asked for questions about islam openly and If all that you have stated is true then tell me:

    a) why, even after 1400 years, it is not a religion of dominant majority of people on earth?

    b) why women in third world islamic countries are deprived of their rights and suffer the every day reported cruelity of men?

    c) how many percercent of muslims observe all the five fundamentals of islam?

    d) do the muslims who read Quran, really understand it? if yes, why don't they act on it?

    e) if islam is not a strict religion, why are there islamic punishments like 'stoning to death' and 'cutting hands' etc.

    f) if islam is a peaceful religion, why people belonging to different sects of islam kill each other? (I just read a news on Yahoo that in Iraq, Shias got hold of three sunnis who were coming out from mosque after doing their worship and they were burnt alive)

    g) are those muslims who are involved in terrorism have not the full support of islamic religious clerics?

    h) if it is easy to understand Quran, then why are there more than 100 sects in islam?

    i) tell me a single charecteristics of muslim, as a whole, which is

better than non-muslim people? (like they do not lie, they are civilised people, they care for others, they do not deceit others etc etc)

These are only a few questions. There are many more. I may tell you that I was born in a muslim family but I am disappointed by the behaviour of muslims. May be that you are living in some developed country and have no idea what happens in third world islamic countries in the name of islam.

Praising islam by muslims does not make any sense. The real praise will be that non-muslims praise islam.

I think Islam is an ego-centric religion, like Judaism and Christianity. It creates a god by projecting the human ego thought system outward which is why we have reward, punishment, sin, etc. It's why it's so natural that we have people who can easily use these traditions to kill and hurt others. Although most don't, the separation mechanisms are there. In each of these traditions, however, the 'real God' exists and can be found. In Judaism, they have kabbalah. In christianity, they have the christian contemplatives like Meister Eckhart and St John of the Cross. And in Islam, they have the Sufis like Rumi. I'd go more for the Sufi element if I were to get into Islam.

My views on Islam is that it is a dangerous religion that seems to have a large population of fanatics that want to kill people who don't agree with their opinion of god and religion.

Let me tell you something...this is the opinion of the vast majority of Americans of all colors and races.

If you want to change this opinion, do what is necessary WITHIN YOUR OWN RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY to convince people that their religion will NEVER be accepted UNLESS they can learn to live in peace, and eliminate the word "infidel" and the desire to punish those who disagree.

I'm not saying that Christianity is any better, because they have a long history of blood on their hands spreading their religion through violence, but at very least, they're no longer attacking and killing those who disagree with them like followers of Islam are doing today.

Americans don't care that it is a "small percentage" that are acting in a violent manner. Your "small percentage" is far too large and create far too many problems for the rest of the world. Do your part, and have other peace loving Muslims do their part to encourage EVERYONE in your religion to keep peace with others, or else you will never be accepted as a religion or a society.

I can say that the Muslim folks I congregate with are indeed peaceful; however I can't say this about all Muslims. Saying that a religion is of peace may require much proof showing practical projections of peace; this is not true of all Muslims worldwide when everyday we read about the wanton brutality of Eastern Muslims.

Recently, three young students converted to the Muslim faith; I was thrilled and asked why they converted; I was very disappointed at their answer that 'Islam is the true faith because they are very vigilant against the corrupt US way of life.' If all converts think that way, I would prefer that there would be no converts.

I appeal to all true Muslims to keep the faith, condemn the fanatics and show by your example that Islam as taught by the prophet Mohammad respects women, and is against the killing of anyone.

I've meet a few Muslims that were really cool and the real deal and I've meet other Muslims that were a bunch of freaking jerks; just like all religions I've encountered over the years. If You enjoy yanking a fairy tale chain then knock Yourself out with glee, in a Theocracy You'll never be free so You better like licking the chains of Your Master because that's the way it'll always be. Asalam Awakeo Baby!!!

Honestly - I don't really have any views on Islam because I'm not familiar with the belief system. I do intend on reading the Qur'an at some point to learn more about the belief system (because I do want to see what all the fuss is about). But until I learn something about it, I don't have any views one way or the other.

ok. here's my questions. if Muhammed was a prophet then what did he prophecy. a prophet must be 100 percent accurate all the time to be a prophet from God.

is it true the Muhammed married a 6 year old and had sex with her when she was nine?

does Allah lie or decieve. you will say no of course not. yet in the Koran it says Allah decieved the onlookers of the cross so they thaught it was Jesus.

i think it is sura 19 that says; we change one verse for another and they call us fabricators.

    something like that.

Luk 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

    http://www.100prophecies.org/ read and believe.

i am a Christian as you probably guessed. i believe in one God and Jesus is God's word made into flesh. Jesus came from God.

i hope i do not hurt your feelings. if i do please forgive me. i love Muslims very much. i love anyone who is submitted to God. like Jesus prayed; not my will but yours be done. it is because i love you that i want you to know the truth.

    God bless you

ps let Muslims make one prophecy come false of the Bible and you will turn every Christian in the world into a Muslim.

Education in a pathway for tolerance.

Ignorance is a pathway for hate and wrongdoing.

The more I educate myself, the more I can accept opposing views without feeling threatened or needing to justify my belief. The Quran has taught me that Truth is widespread and the path of righteousness is to learn from those who are different from you, not despise them.

So whenever anyone is spreading hate about my religion, Islam, I try to excuse them because they are simply ignorant and have chose not to educate themselves. It strenghtens my faith because the Quran says that most people don't study and read up on things and that they are speaking from ignorance and hearsay.

Nice people, for the most part. They've got their quirks and their share of nutcases, but what religion doesn't? They get more than their share of bad press. I have a lot of respect for anyone who can pray on their knees five times a day, though. That takes a discipline most people don't have.
