Does anyone really care if they get a thumbs down?

Say you know exactly who's doing it,and know that user doesn't have a clue as to what the right answer would be.Say it's someone with no other purpose in life but to copy and paste recipes and news articles to answers, never giving credit to the source, then voting for his/HER answer every time there's a vote.Say most of these answers are chosen as best by either the asker or by a huge amount of votes.Does anyone even look at these thumbs down and say,gee someone gave me a thumbs down, bummer?Since this is a survey, the most complete answer gets best

Update:

Hey Rebecca, don't kid yourself about violations.Someone in Yahoo! Customer Care has the final say as to whether they're addressed or not.Same type of people doing that to.

I get thumbs down for everything I post.I don't really give a damn.Hell,I could care less if I got 5 down for everything. It don't bother me.It shouldn't bother anybody, really.People just overreact about things.Unless someone gives u a thumbs down for everything, even if it shouldn't be,i can see why people get annoyed by that.People shouldn't really get upset about it anyway though,it's such a simple thing.Who cares?

No, I never even notice any thumb downs I get, not even the thumbs up, not even the best answers. I in here to answer others' questions and to have some fun while I'm at it, not trying to win as many points as possible or beat someone else to it.

Well sometimes in the R & S section I'll make a catholic reference to see how many thumbs down I get. My record so far is 9 thumbs down with 0 thumbs up.

Obviously the person you're referring to has no life at all.Anyone who'd take YA that seriously needs help badly.I've only just gotten to level 2 so this whole thumbs up,down thing is new to me.I would only give a thumbs up or down if it were really necessary.

I don't mind thumbs down cos it reminds me of my childhood "7-up" game and movie critic Roger Ebert, who I cursed at first for giving Spiderman the movie a thumbs down, but now i understand why. A few years later, it didn't hold its own as a classic.

I do not care if I get a thumbs down, but If someone who as my friends gives a thumbs down, then I care

I don't care about the thumbs, but I'm pretty sick of getting violation notices from Yahoo for ridiculous reasons! If you tick someone off badly enough on this site, they can report you for the most nonsensical reasons. Sheesh! Maybe they should screen people for a sense of humor before they're allowed on?

Not really, everybody has their own opinion, you can't do anything about that. What's wrong is when people deliberately go through your answers and questions and give you a thumbs down on all of them, just because you gave them an answer, they didn't like, doing that just to be mean, is so wrong.

Well, I try to give thumbs up to everyone, unless it is a really nasty answer or stupid.. I have a question though, do you get points if someone gives you a thumbs up or how does it work? What are the deal with points for them?

Sometimes I do and wonder..why the thumbs down? But mostly I just let it pass...as long as each of us have opinions there will always be a thumbs down somewhere...btw...thumbs up!
