They should have stopped when they were ahead...?

Okay, so I found a question. "Where is this quote from? That light at the end of the tunnel? That's not Heaven. That's the C Train!" It's from Daredevil, that's not my question. That quote sparked a chain of thought in my mind. That quote... has the potentiality to be a really cool quote... Up until he says "That's the C Train!"

To me, they ruined it. It turned from potentially cool to "Aw, lame."

My question to you is...

Do you have that same reaction to another movie, another quote? That "They should have stopped while they were ahead" reaction?

Update:

I don't mean to say that the quote itself is lame. I like the quote, up until that last bit. I mean to say... "DUH." Like, hello Mr. Obvious. We know it's a train. Leave it be at "That's not heaven" and you've got yourself a clever, witty remark.

So, to reiterate my query...

Does anyone have a movie quote that just didn't quite hit the mark they were aiming for because they drag it out too long, or say an extra word they shouldn't have, or just don't pan away like they should? (Like in Down With Love, that whole monologue Renee does near the end goes on far too long. It was funny at first, but then, yeah, too long.)

A quote from the movie Batman Forever. Val Kilmer said it. "I've spent a lifetime protecting strangers I've never met." That sentence is quite possibly the most stupid bit of dialogue I've ever heard. If he had met these people before, they wouldn't be STRANGERS, now would they? So, in answer to your question, they should have said, "I've spent a lifetime protecting strangers," and left it at that. It would have been a valid point.

I think the Daredevil quote is actually very good, or at least very fitting for that scene where he holds the guy down on the tracks.

Movies all ways use quotes that are either unnecessary or just stupid. like in M.I.3 when eathan climbs over a wall in the Vatican, he says "Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall." It's just plain stupid.
