Which job is better for me?

I found 2 jobs recently and I am now torn in between the two.

One is being a cashier, pays $8 per hour but can exceed $15 per hour with tips, 25 hours per week. The other one is being a retail sales at a high end boutique, pays $10 per hour, 14 hours per week.

The thing is that I won't be having as much time as I have now for my assignments if I choose the cashier job but I will be making a lot more than the retail sales (I'll have enough time for my hw if I choose retail sales but making a lot less).

Which one is better off for me, guys? Help me out! Thanks!

p/s: I am attending full time college.

The first and biggest question is which one of these can you make to work better with your class schedule. Because that comes first. Yes, one must eat, but getting an education and a degree under your belt will be worth far more down the road than borrowing a few grand during college to keep your finances liquid.

You're currently deciding between jobs that pay $8 or $10 an hour. Once you get a college degree, you could be looking at jobs that pay between 50% and 100% more than that. College graduates, on average, make about twice what non-college grads make. So borrow money if you have to, but stay in school, and you'll be good for it later. As long as you don't get a degree in something like art or English anyways.

I would take the Cashier job, which pays more and once you get in you'll get a better feel if you can handle the hours and homework and if you can't then just ask the manager if you can work something out. It will be harder for the manager to let you go and find someone else, train them, etc... I'm pretty sure they will work with you.

If not, apply for the retail job after the cashier job doesn't work out.

remember these are stepping stones to your future.

    Good Luck

Cashiers get tips? - Your education is more important, take the job that will not take up too much of your college time.
