A question for all Christians?

There is a particular "Christian" on here making commentary for your entire religion (I'll give a hint...Oh-T...).

I'm just curious, does it anger any of you that this person is the reason Atheists and the like "criticize" and "generalize"?

If this person is the leading example of Christianity in this section, do you really blame Atheists for saying what we do about your religion?

I want to know what your stance is on her commentary, and what your personal belief is?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ame79...

Update:

That's what I was looking for Ace!

Luckily, I do realize that it's just one person and I don't generalize. This is just one person, but not many people argue her points.

Update 2:

And just FYI...I never said I THINK THIS WAY, I'm asking a question to get answers to this. It is the same way for all religions and non. I realize this. I'm not generalizing, just asking a hypothetical question to get real answers. I want to know what OTHER Christians think about this.

Update 3:

No nerve hit, I have seen much worse. Just using this one because it's recent for the sake of argument.

Do not base your opinion on the whole of Christianity because one person is rude, inconsiderate, or creating oddball statements. This person is not the basis of my Christ. The leading example of my Christ is in the bible, not in the words of a man, for we have all sinned and fallen short in the glory of God.

I am a Christian myself, and these kind of people do more damage than anything an atheist could say to us. These are what I call the "Super Christians", they know everything and have answers for everything when it comes down to it, they only know what they have been told by their self-important preacher. The Lord calls us to be as the "Bereans" were, in other words, never trust what any preacher or teacher says on face value, it must be in accordance with God's word. But as long as religion is taught instead of Christianity, this kind of stupidity will continue to shed a bad light on true believers of the Lord.

Here's my personal disclaimer: I do not officially endorse anything any of these yahoos post on yahoo. That said, sometimes I agree, and sometimes I disagree. What you say is true about every group of people everywhere (including athiests). There will always be a few who say some off-the-wall shtuff and claim to represent a group, but they're way off base. You should not let them get in the way of your search for the truth.

I'm not a Christian, nor do I know (or care) who you're talking about.

But it isn't fair to blame all Christians for the behavior of one. It's called over-generalizing, and is simply inaccurate.

It's not like all Christians are the same person, or that Christians control how all other Christians behave.

Just because a person CLAIMS to speak for all of their religion (or race or sex, for that matter) doesn't mean that all of the group agrees with them.

She is entitle to her views just like the others. If anyone really wants to know about Christianity they should seek Christ. People will let you down and fail to be all that we wish they could. That is why atheist call us hypocrites, because who can live up to a perfect God, nobody. Actually, by reminding us that we are hypocrites just moves us closer to Christ, because we recognize the need for Him. My point here is to look to Christ for the answers not to Yahoo. Q& A if you want to know Him.

Yeah, it bugs me a lot. Not just her, but every Christian who is condescending, prejudiced, or hateful (not all of which describe Tamy). It gives the religion a bad rap. As St. Francis of Asissi said, "Preach the Gospel at all times. If necessary, use words." A person's actions ought to speak for them.

DC Talk said it best, The greatest reason in the world for atheism is Christians. Who praise Jesus with there lips then walk out the door and continue with their lifestyle.

I think this person is forgetting the golden rule:

    Do unto others...

Somehow I don't think Jesus would be entirely pleased with her line of questioning.

    HOWEVER

It is our job and duty as Christians to evangelize! Make no mistake - we want you to be on our side. HOWEVER, it must be of your own free will and attrition that you come to christ.

Her will might be applauded but not her ways!

    take care

She seems to be a Christian and so I would stand with her, but I agree that her way of presentation is really demeaning.

Obviously she struck a nerve. There are so many others who have said things far worse and yet you point her out.

Perhaps you need to figure out why.
