i have done this before in gymnastics. all i did to strenghten it was take like a two ppound wieght and put it over your head and move your shoulder up and down. in gymnastics we called theese shoulder shrugs.

make a fist and hold your arm (abviously the hurt one) out parrallel to the ground for 2 minutes it works, we do it in wrestling for 5 minutes for shoulder strength
