Do you know how I can make a digital image from an x-ray film either myself or from a service like Kinko's?
I have a full sized canine shoulder x-ray (approximately 15 X 18 inches) and I would like to make a digital image of the film for a power point slide. I am aware of special software and scanners on the market for this purpose, but do not plan making these types of images regularly. Is there a way to make an accurate image with a more standard scanner or can digital images be produced at common office service center such as FedEx-Kinko's or some other commonly accessible service center?

I would ask your vet if they can export it to a regular JPEG.
The problem with X-Rays is that they represent many more shades of grey than a regular image (or monitor) can support. As such, you always view a subset of the true image.
There is way to view all the data, but without a specialized monitor, you are always going to see a subset.
Chances are that your x-rays are in DICOM form, and as such, you can use a DICOM viewer, or other tools (such as JDICOM from tiani.com) to view them and/or export them, but if you can get your vet to export it to a regular image with a generic display setting, you'll probably have all you want.

i'm a RN and that i continuously reviewed victims' lab paintings. clinical medical doctors in many situations left orders to call them with consequences. It develop into also a superb idea to draw close the outcomes, in order that i'd favor to bypass the healthcare professional if any ranges were unusual and mandatory pastime. I also recognized at X-rays mutually as they were given the following to the unit. in many situations circumstances they remained contained contained in the X-ray branch, and in straightforward words the rfile develop into despatched to the unit.
