what does FONT mean? it is not in my dictionary.?

A font is a "style" (more or less) of writing. It is most frequently used in reference to text typed on a computer.

If you open up a word processor (such as wordpad) you select from a drop-down list various different "fonts" to choose from. Each has it's own look or "style".
