Use pinking shears; the scissors that make a zig-zag pattern on the cut edge. Or, there's ... I can't think of the name of the product, but you iron ... oh yeah! Fusable Bond! That's what it's called. There's two kinds, one sided and two sided. They have bonding stuff on it. It bonds to the fabric with the heat of your iron. You can get it where ever you bought your fabric.

Right try fringe stop or even a small amount of hot glue. Rather than binding a reminent of carpet I bought I just used a thin line of hot glue along that last fringe and it worked awsome. You can vacumn it roll on it and it has never freyed.

Aproduct called "Fraystop" works good and is invisible when dry. You can find it in the fabric department.

this may sound a bit dangerous and possibly very stupid but have you tried singeing it with a lighter or some other sort of heat? that works on nylon and stuff like that
