How to ask for something in return for a favor?
I have recorded all the lectures for one of my classes. The professor asked me if I could send him the files. I said I would, and when one of my classmates asked if I would get something in return for the favor, the teacher said we would figure something out between the two of us.
Well, i spent 4 hours uploading the files so he could download them, and he successfully had all 8 of them downloaded last night. In his email he said thanks, but did not offer anything, so my question is, how do I ask him what he's going to do for me? I want extra credit or a few points added onto my score for his final.
I usually don't ask for anything in return for favors, but since he said in class that we would work something out, i feel like I should get something for the work I put into helping him out. So help me figure out how to ask him please!?!?

Favors are favors.
I assume the only way he would be able to "pay" for the "favor"
would be in your grade.
You could ask him what "he worked out".
I don't think I would mention it

This is a toughie because he can't really give you extra marks for something like this. If it were that easy to get better marks in college, people would be washing his car, taking out his trash, buying him a coffee, etc., just for better marks. That would amount to bribery. You deserve something, if he said he'd give you something, but since no specific deal was struck, and he can't give you marks. How about he gives you a "late submission" card - Say to him, "You know, since I gave you those files, and you said you'd return the favor somehow, how about you let me submit a paper late some time - give me a voucher, and I can use it ONCE this semester, if I have trouble getting a paper in on time. Does that seem fair?" Tell him to make it for 2 days late maximum. It's not much to ask, and he knows he owes you.

Should not expect anything in return for a "favor", but since the teacher said he would, maybe after class, mention "will I receive extra credit for all the extra work I have helped you with?"
