Our founders felt that a certain amount of maturity was needed. There are also minimum ages for House of Representatives & Senate. Many statews have minimum ages for various offices for the same reason.

I wouldn't be comfortable with a 25 yr old president.

they could be 25 and a naturalized American Citizen - which potential could be distant places born yet a citizen whilst elected - comparable with the Senate however the age is 30 -- President could be 35 and born American Citizen - (the Govornator of California can no longer run for Pres )

Age for the most part speaks to maturity and experience though this is not always the case; however, society in general seems to deem that age is important enough in some cases. You really wouldn't want an 18 year old occupying the office of president would you?
