Do you use a confident tone of voice even if you don't know what you're talking about?

I do just to see the effect it has on others... I will ramble on about things that I only have little information on... My hands will move quickly, I will talk quickly like I have a lot to say, and I will look the person in the eye... Ha ha... I feel bad for my friends at times...

Update:

It's all a joke, of course... Um...

It depends on the situation. I have done that on occasion just to flip someone out. Then later admitted to them I had no idea what I was talking about. But they certainly believed me at the time.

That is amusing. Personally, I couldn't carry it off. I'd get the giggles.

I prefer pronouncing everything with authority, whether it is correct or not. Of course, I do have to revise pronunciations when the proper one is sorted out. But the interim confusion can be entertaining. ; )

NEVER. If I don't have an answer for someone, I redirect them to someone who can. If one doesn't know what they're talking about, they shouldn't say anything at all- it's showing respect. Jokes are fine, but don't underestimate yourself and your friends and family, that's not fair. That's no different than head games, in my opinion. Thanks for reading.

    Professionally: Yes.

Personally: No....except once in awhile if the situation is dire, then I can really run a line of B.S. with the best of them.

I do that....I pretend im so smart in the topic, but its really rambling the first thing that comes to mind! (sometimes!)

    =)

  • I do, because it makes it looks like you know what you're saying.

It works reallly well in class, especially English. When you havent read the book and your presentation is due.....

I mean, no, no I dont.

why would you want to spread misinformation in the world?

how do you know they think you are an authority.

they are probably deciding that you are a fool.

you will not increaseyour credibility or reputation this way.

i don't know why it amuses you.

No, I never say anything unless I know perfectly what it is.
