What is the oldest currently operated Motor Sports organization?

My personal research shows that APBA (American Power Boat Association) was founded in 1903. Does anyone know of any current Motor Sports association older than that?

I don't think there could be anything older than that because the first motorized wheeled vehicle was built that same year.

The what? Nobody outside of the Florida swamps has ever heard of the "organization" you mentioned.

The Federation Internationale De L'Automobile (FIA, or the International Automobile Federation for those who do not know basic French) was formed in 1904. All motor racing organizations in the world are overseen by the FIA except for those in the US, who refuse to abide by their rules.

This is why the American land speed "record" (among others) isn't recognized as a *world* record: because US efforts didn't meet FIA specifications.

You may have it, I first thought of Indy but their first race was not until 1911.

I think it is our dirt tracks across the states...the dirt stock car series of racing, where all the drivers started....
