How do you get those tiny balls of wool off a cashmere sweater without picking them off individualy?

Be very careful about using a clothes shaver on a cashmere sweater. Not only will it take off the tiny balls of wool, it will also take off the soft fuzziness that makes owning and wearing a cashmere sweater worth while. One night when you're not doing anything else, turn on the TV, sit down with your sweater and pick them off by hand. You'll be happy you did and your sweater will look as good as new.

There is something called a "sweater stone", which is just a pumice stone designed to remove the "pills" (aka tiny balls) without ruining the sweater. I've seen a sweater stone available at some online stores, such as amazon.com.

Some stores sell a sweater shaver....it basically works like a man's electric shaver but on your sweater.
