I want to get my tongue pierced, but I can't find anyone that'll do it without checking id. Can you help me?
I'm 17 and I'm located in Hampton Roads Virginia. (Two hours south of Richmond)
My mother has no objection to it, she's just doesn't like the way it looks so she refuses to take me to get it. She said if I could find another way to get it done, and be safe with it, then go for it.
Also I'm not sure where the troll person lives, but here in VA is costs $30 to get it done in a shop where they have to check id.

ei look, i got my tongue pierced bout a month and a half ago. and i also had to wait a year b4 i got it. i suggest you wait till ur 18, cuz honestly its dangerous to get your tongue pierced, if they do it wrong you might not be able to use your tongue again, and it might even turn a dark purple forever. So think about it. :) when you DO get it, use hydrogen peroxide as a mouth wash to help it heal fast. and ask for a long barbell when u pierce it. since your tongue WILL get swollen. also, ask for acrylic balls.in case you bite the ring it wont hurt as bad. About the eating part. try NOT to eat the day you get it (so do it in the evening). For girls it usually takes bout 3 days for you to eat a Lil. i was able to change mine 4 days after i got it pierced.no pain.=)
*good luck* somehow let me know if you have more Questions. :)

Honey, getting your tongue pierced is major. It's a fad for now, believe me fads come and go. Seventeen years ago the fad was getting your nose pierced. How many people still have nose piercings? Not many. Even though you'll be 18 soon, it's still a major step.
Be very leery of people offering to pierce your tongue from home, or from a broke down hole in the wall shop that doesn't have the decency to check for proper l.d. Your tongue is nothing to play with, and affects your speech. So honey please think it over, and wait. Do some research if you're still persistent to have it done. Check out the people you plan on piercing your tongue. You don't want to be in unsanitary places having your tongue pierced.

Honestly.. I would beware. I would be very suspicious of a place that DIDN'T check ID before doing a piercing. They could be more interested in getting your money than making sure their tools and facilities are clean and sterile. Especially with a tongue piercing. You're 17 now, why not wait a little longer until you're 18. Then you can go wherever you like.

Wait a year and do it legally. Those willing to break a few rules aren't above breaking others, including hygiene ones. Besides, you can consider that year as a determining factor. After a year's wait, if you still want it, then you know you really want it rather than simply going with a fade or on an impulse.

How are you going to look at age 80 with a pierced tongue? Stay away from places that don't check ID--you may get a bad infection, lose part of your tongue, and end up on tube feedings thru your nose, yada, yada, yada.

Obviously she DOES have an objection to it, if she won't sign for you.
And I'm glad to hear that there are tattoo shops actually enforcing the law.
If you're 17, what's the big deal with waiting until you're 18?

The person who pierces your tongue risks losing their ability to have that job for very long. You spend $100 to get your tongue pierced and they are out of a job because you are too stupid to wait until you are legal. Think of other people for a change. Why would they risk their job for YOU?

Just wait till your 18...because you DO NOT want to do it at a friends house or at your own...too dirty. The best thing to do is wait till your 18 and able to get it proffesionally done its safer and more sanitary....

Well I would wait if I were you.mIt sounds really cool to get one but the reality is that you can barely talk or eat for a week and eventually you will let it colse so really what is the point?
