I got my kids metal bunk beds a few years back.
The problem I had with them is the paint gets scratched off, then it rusts were the paint is missing .
The worst thing is the paint has worn off underneath were the metal legs sits on the floor. There are now rust marks on the carpet. The problem is in the design off buck beds, the legs curve under so they can be mounted in a frame.

From my experience the wood ones are better than the metal. Most of the metal ones are pretty cheap and the metal cracks and breaks apart. For a set that will come apart you are looking at about 200.00.

I prefer the wood ones because they feel sturdier and look better! Ermm... you'll probably pay between £100 and £200. should you get the beds that can separate just in case? if they don't cost much more than you may as well - just to be on the safe side. Good luck n_n

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

Wooden ones. I've had both .The metal ones weren't worth the money. The bolt holes eventually reemed out and, unlike wood we couldn't get bigger bolts,or any other way of repairing them.As far as pricing them,it depends. I bought my set from a friend's yard sale foe under 100.00. Good Luck!!!!

My brothers had the metal ones and after a while they got squeaky as heck. Just get good, solid wood ones and have someone who really knows what they're doing put them together.

Yes getting beds that can separate is a good idea. Wood scratched easier than metal. You should be able to get a complete set for less than $400.00.

This is a tough one, metal ones squeak and wood ones break? I would suggest if you get wood ones don't go cheap.. But I don't know how much they would run you, but I would definitely get ones that could separate, just in-case.. Hope that helps..

The metal ones always look like they are left over from a prison movie. The wooden ones look more like they belong in someone's home.
