how can i connect my printer to my other computer?

we have a computer upstairs with a pronter and our new one dosent have a printer. how could i network the computer downstairs to the computer upstairs without running a wire all throught the house?

    You could go and buy a basic wireless router (use it by the computer that has the printer) then hook up the printer using CAT5 a.k.a. Ethernet cable. same with the computer next to the printer then buy a Wireless adapter for the computer downstairs.

    If there is network connectivity between the two printers you can simple just use printer sharing... namely go on the computer that has the printer connected... right click.. alter the "sharing properties" only drawback is that for a job to get to that printer you will need the computer to be turned on. Otherwise you can use a print server, if you don't want to bother having to have that computer on and all print traffic gets routed directly to printer.. but this will mean having an open extra port on a nearby router.

    HOWEVER... if you have no home networking going on and don't want to toil with print servers... you can get a usb printer bluetooth transmitter device.. I saw it in Compusa.. for $30 bucks... you will need a dongle though..
