What did you think of The Passion of the Christ?

I was touched to the heart by the movie. It was really amazing. It really made me realize all that Jesus went through to save me from my sins, and to bring me into a right relationship with God. I know that without the suffering that he went through, I would be lost, and I would be spending eternity separated from him forever.

When I saw it, I treated it like any other movie based on printed work, ie;

1. How well did it adapt to the original book

2. How well did it explain what was going on to the unintiated.

Well, first off, since it adapted only the END of one version of the story, without any real expalination of what was occuring, any non-Christian was lost. Secondly, there was no explaining who any of the characters were. In a flashback we met his mother, but what of the woman accompanying her? Sister, Wife, Aunt? Never detailed. The creepy looking woman with the baby? No explaination.

If you didn't know the story, you would not learn the story here. All you would see is a Man tortured for 2 hours and killed. Even the rational for his death was never fully explained.

As for the actual movie, I came away thinking that the only "superpower" that Jesus had was to be able to mass produce more blood than any three men could possibly bare to lose and survive.

And he invented the dining room table.

The people who were in the theatre with me, were of all types. The worst was those bringing there young children to this Horror Show! A film like this at an early age could scar a child for life! Why do you think it was rated "R"?

I did not like the graphic display of the blood, but it had to be neccessary to let us know how brutal the beating and the crucifixtion was. It was very well done. But there was not an explaination of what the ressurerction means. This is the centre of what the Christian faith is based around; that Christ defeated death. When Christ rose from the dead, Satan was conquered and Christians are free to live without fear of ever being separated from God because of their sin. This was not even mentioned in the movie.

Bloody and stomach-wrenchin. Mel Gibson was there for Christ's birth no more than I was. Crucifixion is a horrible death, but the movie was so violent it forgot to make it about Christ so much as about horror.

It was a very well done movie that made me cry. It was a wonderful reminder of how much Christ sacrificed to save us from our sinful nature. It was also a wake-up call for my husband, who before watching, just didn't get why I was a Christian. He accepted Christ in church the Sunday after we watched it.

The most violent movie ever made. And to think a kind and loving God would condemn his son to such an atrocity! I wonder exactly how much compassion He had for the thousands of other Jews rotting on the crosses that lined the streets?

Ummmm... wish it were in English.. not Aramaic.. otherwise.. it was like any movie of that genre.. except this one was based on at least some facts..

I thought the cinamtography was top notch.. but a bit too dark throughout.. though that may just have been my TV settings..

I acutally cryed during the movie.I cryed one,because I never actually noticed how much God endured for you and me.I also heard,when they showed the movie in the movie theatare,there was a woman who had a heart attack during the movie it was that powerful.

It changed my view on the crucifiction....it became more real and I think it's a good reminder as to what Jesus actually had to go through. Many old-time easter movies don't do it justice I think.

I thought it was the Epitome of Love. I liked the movie too.
