What is meant by a "classical" civilization? ie. Classical Greece?

    If I am not mistaken, it descibes the time period of which the writer or presenter is trying to describe.

    So Classical Greece would be about Greece in their Classical time as viewed by historians and other researchers.

    The term is usually applied to the era in Europe between about the 7th century BC (Homeric period) and the 5th century AD (the fall of the western Roman Empire).

    Mesopotamia, Babylon, Judeah, the Canaanites, Greco-Roman, etc.
