Help! My puppy may be in trouble.....?
My 5 mo old puppy eats everything. while I know this is pretty common, he has been throwing up in the morning, for the last couple of mornings. I am worried that he ate a thumb tack last night, but I can't prove it. Before the inevitable, take him to the vet answers, what could be wrong with him with the throwing up? Is it just teh eating stuff. I will be taking him to the vet soon.
No blood to report. He is a magician puppy! He finds things that the naked eye simply can't see. Thanks for the tips so far.

Be sure to check his vomit & stools to see if there is any blood in either, if so take him to the vet ASAP. If no blood, that's good, but still check his stools for worms or any other objects so that you can get an idea of what he is eating & what is passing.
Try to limit his 'roaming' space until you can train him as to what he can have access to and what is off limits. Training while he is young is key to his adult behavior not to mention the danger of him eating something toxic. Be sure to monitor his actions closely and use stern corrections when he trys to eat something that he shouldn't.
Good luck!

My puppy eats everything too. Just keep a close eye on him and offer plenty of water. If he continues throwing up, by the 3rd day I would take him to the vet.

It could be just stomach upset from all the things that it eats, keep an eye on the puppy and if the throwing up gets worse or it quits eating or gets diarreah get it to the vet.

Oh my they sure do eat everything just like a little kid!
Our new pup just found out our vinyl record collection was nice to chew on, one at a time of course. We blocked her off so she can not get to the records. You may want to do this with your pup, where ever you are at block off sections where you can not see your pup? Keep that spot picked up, pups can find all sorts of things we can not even see!
The vet will find out the reason for the throwing up hopefully. Good luck and I have even seen pups put into a child playpen with lots of toys.

the vomiting is a natural defense to removing a foreign object from the body that shouldn't be there.
he is at risk if the object does not come out either by vomiting or via feaces.
the object can get lodged and cause a problem.....worse case scenario an op to retrieve the object (exploratory laporotomy).
ring the vets and ask what they would recommend, they may want to examine him or remove it later on if not going through the animals digestive system.

he could have a blockage in his intestines. my dog ate a belly full of rocks at that age and had to go to the vet. they had to keep him for about 5 days to see if he would pass them. if not they would have had to do surgery. the symptoms were the same.

Dogs can vomit at will. He might have swallowed something that he's trying to get out of his system.
