for pregnant ladies, advice please?
Im 16 weeks pregnant and absolutely exaushted! I thought the tiredness would wear off once past the first trimester, but i feel so tired and breathless all the time. I am also suffering from lower backache a fair bit. I suspect its fairly common but do any of u ladies out there have any advice on how to cope with these symptoms?

I once read that your body hibernates during pregnancy to prepare your body for all the restless nights when the baby arrives. The only thing I suggest is purchasing one of those pregnant body pillows and sleep as much as possible. With my first pregnancy everything hurt my back, my hips, my legs, my groin, so on. Nothing I did took away the aches and pains. I got smart this time around and went ahead and invested some money into a body pillow. The Comfort U Pillow! Anyway it's helped a lot, worth the investment. The better sleep you get the better your body can adjust to all the changes. Go get some sleep, take advantage of this time without the baby. Congrats and hope all goes well!

My tiredness hasn't really worn off yet either and I'm 20 weeks and 5 days. Some days are better than others of course. What you can do is take cat naps. They refresh your mind and body. About the backaches they're just your muscles stretching to accomodate the baby. So no worries. Congrats & good luck!!!

First, congratulations. There really isnt any way to cope with it. I am 37 weeks myself, and I am exhausted all the time, you will have a spurt of energy coming up soon though, just try to get as much rest as possible. Sorry, but it only gets worse! You will have good days and bad days. It will be worth it in the end! Good luck!

Eat well, rest, but otherwise stay active. Water is insanely important.
I was tired until my third trimester.
The being winded lasts clear through. Its just part of pregnancy. The more active you are the quicker your body will aclimate to the stress of pregnancy, resulting in more energy and less pains.
Swimming is excellent for back aches. Wearing good shoes is insanely important. Now isnt the time for fashion. Your joints are out of wack, and your muscles under stress, wear good shoes.

I hate to say this, but grin and bear it. Rest when you can, and it will pass. Try using a heating pad, not an electric one, but one of the microwaveable ones. Take a hot shower before bed and cut caffeine out of your diet. Congrats to you, and good luck all the tiredness and back pain is well worth the rewards.

I'm 20 weeks and am very tired too. i think it just comes with the territory - sleep when you can. Keep up on your vitamins and mention it to doc next time you go in case you're a little anemic.
The lower backache is your body adjusting to the extra weight in front - women have a tendency to stick their bums out when tummy starts to get large. Focus on pulling your bum in when standing. You can also try try stretching exercises - get on all fours and pull head in towards chest and pull bum in towards the floor - is great for spine.

Remember that some backache is normal but it can also be a sign of preterm labor.
I suggest you going to this site.... www.justmommies.com
the girls there are great and can tell you anything you want to know. There will be a due date club forum and you just go in and introduce yourself and since they are all due the same month you are they will know if its normal or not!

Could you be anaemic? Tiredness/breathlessness are the symptoms. I would tell your doctor/midwife anyway and get them to do a bloodtest :0)

just get extra rest to help with the exhaustion....sit down!!! lol dont move around too much, as it will only make ur symptoms worse....and yeah its pretty common...when i was about 6 wks to 10 wks i had 0 energy and all i wanted to do was sleep
