police oral review?
I am facing an oral review board for the police department I am trying to get hired on at. Does anyone know what questions they will ask, and what are the best answers so that I can get the job instead of one of the many others that are applying. (i.e. how do I win them over better than the other applicants)?
I am not wanting to tell them "what they want to hear" I simply want to know - what not to say, and are there any ideas on how to win them over?

Know specific facts about the community you are applying for i.e. population, demographics, etc. Know specifics about the department itself such as # of personnel, and specific community programs such as DARE, neighborhood watch, etc. Don't go in there and tell them you want to be a homicide detective or SWAT or K9 Officer, it doesn't work that way. You have to do your time. If you stopped your mother and she was driving drunk would you arrest her? (No, I would not ruin my family life for the job.) Some variation of a fellow officer breaking the law and would you report it. (Yes, you owe your loyalty to the department, not individual officers.) The big thing is however you answer a question, stick with it. They will try to get you to change your answers not because you are wrong, but to see if you can be pushed around. On the street, you need to make a decision and stick with it. Hope this helps.

You question alone makes me seriously doubt you could be hired. Trying to tell them what they want to hear will not work.

Oral review beats a full body/cavity search.
