An old indian once told me a crazy way to fall asleep. He claimed the process took 30 days to perfect. Once perfected he claimed you could fall asleep anytime anywhere in any position and it would only take minutes. He was right. I gave it a shot and now I have no problems going to sleep even when I'm not really tired.
Lay in your bed face up with arms down by your side. If you like to the covers pull them up to your neck.
Close your eyes and tell your feet to replax. Kepp telling them this until you feel them relax. Then move to your legs. Once there tell your hands then arms. If you make it past your arms it will be strange. This means you did not get some part of the body to relax. Start over. Do this every night for 30 days and then you will be able to shut down your body within minutes.

First be sure you don't have any caffeine in the evening. Sometimes a small glass of wine is good if you can drink it. Then reading, especially something that you're not particularily interest in that won't hold your attention...boring,dry. The other way I have relaxed enough to fall asleep is to relax your body starting from your lower body and gradually relax each part until you reach your head and try to clear your head of everything but relaxing. If these natural things don't help maybe a mild sleeping pill if you are really sleep deprived.

if you are having trouble sleeping then take Benadryl. Trust me I have been on alot of different meds for sleep and the cheapest and most effective is benadryl. if you are just having trouble falling asleep. then take two Saint Johns wart pills two hours before bed and then take a dose of melitonin. dont take the melitonin for more then a week and dont take it after you would normaly want to be going to bed because it teaches your body when to release its own melitonin. if you do take benadryl and you get dried out sinus, take musinex every three days and it will solve that problem. what ever you do do not excercise before bed. that will cause probelems.

You need to clear your mind and tell you brain to relax, start on the feet and say feet relax and breathe slowly in and out, work your way up the body to your finger tips, You need to really concentrateon the breathing and it best if you flex your muscles, toes etc, first and then let go and relax. After a few days you will get the hang of it. It works most of the time for me.
