What do you call the little bits of paper that get torn off...?

Like if you have a spiral notebook and you rip off a page. Is there a name for the little scraps of paper that are left behind?

The operative word which I learned from the Florida version of the 2004 presidential election is chads, specifically hanging chads.

These are the little scraps of paper that hang off of the ballot after the voter has punched the voting card.

There is a word for these scraps. I don't know what it is, but I do remember that there is a word. There are so many words in the English language that it's almost ridiculous to think that we could learn the language. There is also a name for every part of a shoe. I just know about the sole, tongue, and heel. Try asking a manufacturer. The guys who make stuff usually know everything about the stuff they make.

You sound precisely like me. as quickly as I positioned my 3.7 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old to mattress it takes her 3 hours just to doze off. I sleep along with her, yet she a approach or the different thinks it quite is play time and unearths each thing humorous. whilst she performs, whilst it quite is time for sleep I tell her she will have an afternoon out or come and lay down with me. I supply her many opportunities, as a results of fact i take advantage of day out as a final motel. I positioned her in the bathing room, yet i'm able to in no way enable her stay in for the entire 3 minutes as a results of fact she screams her head off, asserting, "Mommy!, mommy!" and that i stay in an place of living too, and it quite is the reason she does no longer stay in the bathromm that long, as a results of fact i do no longer choose human beings to think of i'm hurting her. i'm unsure what to do. I have been given her to mattress at 11:00 pm this evening and the day in the past right this moment I have been given her to sleep at 3:00am! i do no longer understand what to do, the only element i'm able to declare is do no longer supply in to her tantrums, stay consistent, be company, and don't supply her naps on the brink of the evening time. make useful she is definitely fed, I now they on occasion get hungry in the past mattress. I want I knew the solutions.

My husband calls them "paper shnipples". I had never heard that before, but since we've been married I have heard at least one other person use that term. Probably depends on what part of the country you are from! (I am in the Midwest)

Could be microtz. This is a word from a soi-disant dictionary by Rich Hall. The book is called Sniglets.

A mess, that's for sure! I was going to say 'dog-ears', but I think that actually refers to the part left ON the paper. . .
