Does anyone "regift"?

If you don't like a present someone gives you do you hide it away and then give it to someone else the next holiday?

Heavens no........I will always like anything anyone gives me. Whether I use it or not that is different question. But never will I give it to someone else. Maybe that was all they could buy or maybe they did think I would like it. Either way, it was bought for me and with love. So I will keep it forever, even if not used.

Regifting is a major part of Christmas. Just be careful not to give it back to the same person. My mother-in-law is the queen of useless gifts, and things that don't fit. In fact, there is a sweater that she gave me a few years ago that has had at least 6 owners now, and the tags are still attached. I've owned it twice now. It is awful. If I'm not mistaken, she has even gotten it once. She thinks that it is funny now, and it has become the family joke as to who will get it this year.

Good heavens yes! It makes good sense.

Why would you put something away in your closet that you may never use or wear -- when there is someone else who may get a lot of joy out of it?

The only "regift" I regret is giving my mother a pair of diamond earrings an old boyfriend had given me one Christmas. She never wears them & I'd sure like those earrings back.

Yes I have done that and I am doing so this year. I was given a weather alert radio a few years ago. I am giving it to my brother who has started to hike and wilderness camp. He can truly use it. Many years ago I gave my MIL some candle rings. She re-gifted them back to me a few years later. At the time I was kind of miffed but we laughed and it is now an inside joke with me and her.

I have done it in the past, am rather reluctant, but I still have new items that I have received in years past that would make good gifts, I will consider it. Sounds tacky, but I am going to give the stuff to someone, charity, whatever.

it just depends. are they a frequent visitor to your home? if so you should hang on to it . If they are not then regift it what the heck right?

    YES, why not?

If it is a gift I can never use or I just dont like it , why not give it to someone that might enjoy it?
