Does anybody else find it ironic?

... that Jesus Christ preached a religion of tolerance, kindness and inclusiveness, and yet the majority of the religious who post here tend to spew streams of hatred and vengefulness?

It seems really odd to me that while the main religions are all the same in that their founders tended to preach a gentle philosophy, yet their adherents tend to act in such a way that to me they seem to embody evil.

Does anybody else find this really strange?

What's ironic about that? the best way for the Evil One to destroy the church is from the inside out...

Remember that it was the religious leaders who murdered Jesus for not joining in the scam. There's a huge difference between following the Lord and following religion. Always remember who it is that stands on the right hand of the father and calls you to his side. In his name, we rebuke and try to correct the leaders of religion but their wicked force will continue until the Lord's return so that everyone who wants to pretend to be Holy without actually having love in their hearts can be revealed and choose their eternal place. You are blessed and see through that nonsense so you have been called to a higher place by Jesus.

Yes, hypocrisy abounds in this world. Thank goodness Jesus Christ is so forgiving. We're definitely not perfect yet. "The whole have no need of a physician..."

I think the previous answerer is right, too. There are many good people out there who live the good principles taught by their religions. But these people probably aren't that vocal.

Too many people, including the followers of Jesus, spew hatred here; fortunately, there are quite a few that manage to avoid hate-spewing and just answer the questions from their point of view.

If you look at it a certain way yeah, but you have others that aren't like that. You will here more about hatred and other things evil before you here about something loving and peaceful. Just keep doing good because in the end...it will be worth it.

maybe this will help. one, we are not perfect, so when people come in here bashing our faith you will so some anger, some will say righteous anger. Jesus destroyed all the sale booths infront of the temple in righteous anger. becaus they were making a mockery of the sabbath, which by the way is saturday not sunday. how would you feel if we mocked and made fun of someone you loved? maybe you couls understand why we get angry when you an others like you mock our God.

simply because most people believe their Religious Belief System is the only correct one and since they know what is best for everyone else they have a right to jam their Religion down everyone throats. when two or more of these Religious fanatics get together with opposing viewpoints there are problems as each forget the free will and rights of others.

I think your concept of Jesus Christ is a bit skewed. How tolerant was it to say that the only way to heaven was through Him? Or calling Peter "Satan?" Not very by the World's standards.

Definately strange. I know that most religious people talk about gay marriage, and things like that but I think that they should just leave the judgement to God instead of hating on people just because they're different. We're supposed to love our neighbors

You must keep in mind the key to what you are saying.

    You mentioned the "religious."

Jesus offers us relationship, not religion.

Religion is man's way of trying to reach God. ((Which means, be as religious as you want. Without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ...we won't get into Heaven.))

To reach us, God offers us relationship through Jesus Christ.
