What's the best type of finish for bathroom fixtures that won't pit?

Right now I have gold finish fixtures that are about 8 yrs old and they are pitting. The finish doesn't seem to hold up. What brand and/or finish would you recommend that will last longer?

I used to work for a company that manufactured bathroom fixtures.. Your best bet is nickel finishes like: polished nickel..brushed nickel..

Bronzes: will most definietly pit when touched by water

    Chromes will rust

American Standard/ Moen / and Price Pfister are really great top brands..

Plus if you go to homedepot or lowes you can find what is called the bath-in-a-box.. that will have the matching faucet, towel rods and light fixtures all in one box!!!!

Here is the website for the company i worked for..so you can check them out...shipping takes about 1 week most..

    http://www.checkolite.com/

They range from about $80+ a box..

    Good luck!
