What is your favorite Christmas movie?
I watch alot of holiday movies this time of year, but my favorite has to be "A Christmas Story" ...you'll shoot your eye out! I also love "Its Christmas time Charlie Brown" along with a ton of other classics. How about you??

For me, my all-time favorite Christmas movie is the 1951 version of 'A Christmas Carol' with Alistair Sim as Scrooge. Screenwriter Noel Langley (who also penned the screenplay for 'The Wizard of Oz', btw) captures the atmosphere of the story perfectly, including two of Dickens' best puns. The cast is fabulous, especially Mervyn Johns, George Cole, Kathleen Harrison (Mrs. Dilber), and a *very* young Patrick McNee as young Jacob Marley.
Running a close second is the original version of 'Miracle on 34th Street', with Edmund Gwenn and a very young Natalie Wood. BTW, the little song he sings with the displaced Dutch girl is real, and is sung to this day by children putting out their shoes for Sinterklaas to fill.
That's not to say that I don't like 'Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol' or 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' or 'A Charlie Brown Christmas'; they all reflect the best of what Christmas means, as well as being fun. Most of the others mentioned, except for 'It's a Wonderful Life', don't seem to reflect the Christmas spirit at all for me.

I actually love one that's not actually a Christmas movie, despite the title - "Comfort & Joy". Mid-80s, Scottish movie. Dry, dry humor, really a light drama about a man who rediscovers himself in a funny way - happens to take place around Christmas.
More classically, I love "A Christmas Story" too.
One that I don't like at all is "It's a Wonderful Life". Yeah yeah, groan all you want, but it's so stupid and dull.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
I actually have to watch it so that I can say Christmas time is here.
Followed by It's A Wonderful Life

I love "A Christmas Story" TOO. It's my fav. It doesn't feel like Christmas unless I watch it. My fav part is when the mom keeps the starved dad out of the turkey only to have it dragged out and eaten by a pack of dogs. I also love when the boy gets his tongue stuck to the pole.

I am a sucker for Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph. But as far as more grown up movies, I always havew and always will love the movie White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney.
