My period is late! Im breastfeeding..?

i'm still breastfeeding my 22 month old son and i couldve written your post! i'v ehad 21 day cycles, 24 day cycles and, on occasion, cycles that are 1 or 2 weeks LATE. Im' not pg, hubby had a vasectomy.. sometimes your cycles are just screwy when you're breastfeeding...

I am still BF my 7 month old daughter, My period has been so unpredictable too. I skipped a couple of months so I took a test and then started my period the next day, lol. I wouldn't worry if your being cautious but if your really worried follow up with another test in a couple weeks.

I only breastfed my daughter for 6 months, but at my 6 week check-up, my OBGYN suggested I get on bc pills...there are some that you can take while breastfeeding that won't affect your milk or your baby. I can't remember what they were called now, but they were pop's or mini pills I believe...good luck to you! (Oh, since you said that you were worried I was assuming you weren't ready for another little one just yet...if I'm wrong then sorry for the advice!) =)

I would yake another test in a few days & see your OB once you get your period again while breastfeeding you should be "normal" I think you are pregnant, the spotting & all

Breastfeeding can hold back your period a little while, but take a pregnancy test or ask your doctor to be sure.

I breastfeed all four of my kids and I believe that a 21 month old needs not be be nursing anymore. They need babyfood more than breastmilk now. Maybe your body is just trying to get back to where it used to be. My dr told me it takes about a year after nursing for your body to get back to how it used to be. I think you might be just trying to regain your monthly period again.
