What to get my Husband for Christmas....?

I think you should examine each of his tools (in a sly way of course) and see which one is the most worn out and replace it for him. Or if he is still using older tools (such as a non-powered saw) you may want to replace it with something more modern...electrical perhaps. However, you may easily be making a mistake if you are not very familiar with the type of tools he prefers and may end up getting him something that he cannot use. A gift certificate, though impersonal would be a good idea because he would then be able to choose exactly what he wanted. I think he would appreciate that as well.

I have a hard time getting around the thought that someone can't figure out a present for a boyfriend or a husband. Do they ever see each other or talk or live in the same house or what. I kind of think that if you know even a little about someone, then you have to know exactly what to get as a gift. When I have this problem, it turns out that I am resentful of something she did and actually block the gift thought process as subconsciously, I feel she deserves nothing. If in doubt - ask him. Tell him you want to get something on a list of things he wans or needs and not waste money on dumb stuff. If he says nothing - then get him a box, write nothing on it, wrap it very pretty and tell him you followed his wishes for what he wanted exactly. Get him a certificate that says you will communicate. Talk to him. Hope this helps.

Maybe one of those small wood lathes to turn furniture legs on, if he doesn't already have one... or maybe some different kinds of wood chisels. I don't know what all he has, but lots of woodworkers I've seen get lots of use out of routers, planers, power sanders, and bandsaws too...

As much as gift certificates are inpersonal, it might be your best bet if you don't know much about the tools he currently has. Men love gadgets, but if you don't know what type of gadgets to get...then you are kinda in the dark.
