Whats your opinion of the 10mm as a cartridge?
I've been shooting the 10mm for about 13 years now. I've noticed its a cartridge that people either love it or they hate it. Its recoil is no worse then a .45 ACP so it does'nt beat you up and is accurate enough to use in competition So far I've put around 11,000 rds through mine with no problems. I would like to hear what others think.

I've been carrying a .10mm on duty for about as long. It is a Glock G-20 and I love it. I have to disagree on the recoil. Althought it isn't bad, it is more than a .45acp.
One year a friend who had shot a .45acp Sig 220 during his career wanted to try out my .10mm. I shot the qualification course with my .10mm and he with his Sig. Then I handed him a box of ammo and my .10mm and he re-qualified with my .10mm. He returned complaining that his hand hurt from the recoil. Even though I had never been bothered by my ten's recoil, he was because he wasn't used to shooting it. He shot a perfect score with my .10mm and now carries a Glock Model 21 in .45acp.
My opinion of the .10mm? I think it fits every need required of a handgun. It is powerful. It is accurate. It is high capacity (my Glock is 15 + 1). It'll serve you well as a defensive handgun or a hunting backup. With the optional Glock 6" barrel it is a pistol hunting weapon for up to deer-sized animals. Some models will conceal as well as the flatter 1911s. What more can you ask of a handgun?

I have seen no reason to discard my .45ACP and 9mm Parabellum handguns and buy a 10mm Auto pistol. The .40 S&W is more popular and has more selection of loads...if one wants an in-between caliber as alternative to .45 or .35. From what I see in mags, the 10mm Auto is a good enough load but not a great one.

10mm is awesome. The only downsides are there's not as much selection and availablity for guns or ammo. But you get the speed the others just don't deliver.
